Since 2016 Gene has been a key member of the underwriting team, helping turn complex loan scenarios into successful closings. With a B.S. in Financial Management from Southern Illinois University and three Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association awards recognizing his operational excellence, Gene brings both expertise and dedication to every challenge.

In his role, Gene supports both sales and operations teams, working behind the scenes to ensure every loan moves smoothly from application to funding. Whether he’s helping sales navigate a difficult scenario for a borrower who’s been turned down elsewhere, clarifying conditions with processing, or making quick adjustments during closing, Gene’s goal is always the same: to improve the customer experience.

“I enjoy the fact that, much like a snowflake, no two loans are exactly alike,” Gene says. “There’s always something new to learn and solve.”

Outside of work, Gene gives back by volunteering with local organizations whenever he can, and he doesn’t mind bringing a bit of humor to his downtime. A little-known fact: he creates goofy Facebook videos as a “reporter” for Naperville One, a fictional news station that keeps his friends and family entertained.

When he’s not underwriting or filming his next “broadcast,” Gene enjoys spending time with his family, attending sporting events and concerts, and exploring the great outdoors.
