Helping Clients Find Financial Freedom Through Homeownership

Since joining Oak Leaf Community Mortgage in 2025, Tom Raschka has brought more than a decade of lending experience, a sharp financial mind, and a genuine love of people to his role as Senior Mortgage Loan Officer. With an MBA in Finance from Lewis University and a lending career that began in 2010, Tom is deeply committed to helping clients navigate the mortgage process with confidence, clarity, and care.

“I collaborate with clients to match available programs to their home financing goals,” Tom explains. “Whether it’s purchasing a home, lowering an existing rate, consolidating debt, financing a dream—or anything else life throws at them—we are here to help.”

For Tom, every client journey is unique. What never changes is the reward that comes with helping people gain a sense of financial security. “It’s very special to experience the pride and excitement of a new homeowner or hear the relief in a client’s voice when we help reduce their monthly payment,” he shared. “Every situation requires renewed diligence and care, which keeps this career fresh and meaningful.”

Tom’s ability to interpret the full financial picture comes in part from his background in personal banking. Earlier in his career, he held multiple financial and insurance licenses, including Series 6, 63, and 26, as well as life and health insurance certifications across numerous states. This experience gives him a unique lens when making lending recommendations, especially for clients with complex financial profiles.

Beyond the office, Tom’s passion for community runs deep. He currently serves a six-year term as a park commissioner, a role that has given him a new perspective on public service. “I didn’t truly know the extent of the responsibility when I ran for the position, but it’s been incredibly rewarding to help shape improvements for the parks in our community.” He and his family also stay active volunteering through their church and participating in school events with their children.

When he’s not helping clients or serving his community, Tom can be found near the basketball court or poolside cheering on his sons. “We’re all in for the boys,” he says. “It’s great to see their accomplishments as they grow.” And while family life keeps them busy, Tom and his wife hope to plan a vacation together again soon!

Known around the office for his humor and big-hearted nature, Tom doesn’t take himself too seriously. “I’m a big kid and a goofball at heart. Being the youngest of six, there was always laughter growing up. In this industry, where things don’t always go your way, sometimes a good laugh is exactly what’s needed.”

At Oak Leaf Community Mortgage, powered by North Shore Trust and Savings, Tom Raschka is more than a loan officer. He’s a trusted advisor, a community advocate, and someone who truly enjoys helping others succeed one home at a time.
